Job Title: Buyer

Job Description:

The buyer will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, and services on behalf of the company to ensure the company's operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery. You will rely on your skill in negotiating price rates with suppliers, evaluating deliveries, and maintaining positive supplier relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate potential suppliers based on criteria such as industry experience, capacity, quality standards, and delivery times.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the best cost, quality, and lead time.
  • Develop purchase orders and oversee their statuses.
  • Actively manage suppliers to ensure delivery schedule and quality levels are met.
  • Review technical specifications for raw materials, components, and equipment.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
  • Keep abreast with market trends, demand drivers, and price trends.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including quality, planning, design and development, and logistics to ensure seamless flow of materials.
  • Conduct market analysis, forecast price, and market trends to identify changes in balance in buyer-supplier power.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a buyer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer role or similar position

• Proven proficiency in Data Entry is essential

• Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Excel is required

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Must possess problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on financial data

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field is preferred but not required

• Familiarity with ERP software is a plus
